At last we have an option to install Gloobus Preview in Oneiric Ocelot. Requires some additional steps, but worth it. Come to see
Linux ever more surprised me. Each new application adds new features coming out of our system, and not excessively consume memory. Programs like Synapse, Radio Tray, Wine or PlayOnLinux surprised me with its capabilities and how freely and helps free users.
And this time I want to show another one of those applications. Caught my attention, mainly because without consuming a lot of RAM adds useful functionality to Nautilus: ALL preview what you have music, videos, documents, archives, folders, imagens ... The list is long.
What is your name? Gloobus Preview.
Before you know it, some details:
Nautilus needs to work
I've only tested on Ubuntu. I have no experience with other distros and this program
To install it, open a terminal and follow these steps:

To install it, open a terminal and follow these steps:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gloobus-dev/gloobus-previewInstallation in Oneiric Ocelot
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gloobus-preview
sudo apt-get upgrade
Installation is basically the same, but here it adds a difference. As used Gnome Sushi as the default in Oneiric we have to reconfigure the space kafe so that when you press open Gloobus Preview. This is accomplished by opening the terminal and typing:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gloobus-dev/gloobus-preview
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gloobus-preview gloobus-sushi libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev
Then, restart Nautilus (you can log off, reboot or kill the Nautilus process in the system). You select a file, press the Space key, and start the Show:
In doing so, it will display the folder's name, weight, and content. You say: "pfff ... If you do this by reviewing the properties of the folder." Well, that's true ... Only in this example.
Let's go to another situation:
In this case we have a PDF document. And yes, it displays at the same rate as in Example No.1. Until you can afford to read it directly from there without having to open it. Quite practical, and like so you open an image:
So far it may still not be surprised ... But that's not all. This aktivitas can display the contents of your compressed files:
As you will, preview anything ... The list goes on, but I think it is necessary to continue showing more screenshots, because I proved my point. Just tell them that you can watch videos, listen music, read documents and view presentations Gloobus. And all with the space key.
This aktivitas caught my attention. I quite liked ... and will continue to improve. Already come new options. But they were not going ahead. Only I will recommend to install it and try it for yourself. I like it.
